The aim of the Farr Centre is to provide a safe and welcoming space where women can empower themselves, make new friends and learn new skills. Nottinghamshire Women's Aid can provide help and signposting with any issues that may be affecting you as a women, from drug and alcohol issues, welfare rights and legal advice, lack of confidence and self esteem, help with budgeting and other lifeskills such as basic IT skills, CV writing and making healthy lifestyle choices.
Nottinghamshire Women's Aid also have a lot of fun activities for you to try out such as new fitness sessions run by a fully qualified fitness instructor who is also able to give advice on nutrition and health. There is also a two week stress management course and a workshop demonstrating massage and relaxation techniques.
British Sign Language has always been popular and a course is taking place over the summer. Also on offer is confidence building, combined with women’s studies.
New to The Farr Centre is Creative Writing. This is a great course designed to get your mind thinking more creatively and enabling you to put your thoughts into words. Stories and poems written in this course can be offered for publishing in a book currently being produced by Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid Ltd.
